Cab driver slits wife's throat

Fre­qu­e­n­t quarrels between Rame­s­h­ alias Thirumalesh, 36, a cab driver, and his wife Kanthimathi, 32, saw him stab her to death in C K Achakattu Police limits on Wednesday morning. 

Following the act, it is learnt, Ramesh tried to kill himself by slitting his throat. However, timely intervention by the police saw Ramesh being shifted to a private hospital, where his condition is stated to be critical. 

Enraged during a heated argument over household issues, Ramesh slit his wife’s throat with a kitchen knife. A profusely bleeding Kanthimathi succumbed to injuries, police said. The couple had two children Yuvaraj, 7 and Punith, 3. 

According to the police, the neighbours and the deceased’s brother, informed them that Ramesh used to come home in an inebriated state every night and pick up quarrel with his wife. He was not giving her money to run the house, they added. A case has been registered and further investigation is being carried out.
