Seat matrix for ISM&H courses by tomorrow

Last Updated 18 August 2014, 20:10 IST

The seat matrix of Indian System of Medicine and Homeopathy (ISM&H) courses is likely to be hosted before August 20.

There has been a delay in the Ayush courses counselling as the State government was yet to receive information about the affiliation status of colleges and the approved intake from the central monitoring agency.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) was forced to go ahead with the counselling for rest of the subjects.

Sources told Deccan Herald that the Ayush Department was in the process of preparing the seat matrix and the details would be hosted either on Tuesday or on Wednesday.

Delays

Ayush colleges have been taking a beating annually owing to delay in the counselling. The department has to get information from Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM) and Central Council of Homeopathy (CCH) only after which the KEA can hold the counselling.

KEA officials said they were yet to receive information about it.

Details awaited

Even as the details pertaining to the Ayush courses are awaited, KEA is in the process of clearing all the remaining engineering and medical seats by way of another round of counselling subsequent to the second extended round. The next round of counselling has already begun and the allotment results will be hosted on August 20.

As for the Ayush courses, as of now, the State government has 860 Ayurveda seats, 193 Homeopathy seats, 49 Naturopathy seats and 74 Unani seats.
