Despites some chinks early on, Railways, who on Wednesday scored a comfortable 74-59 win over Andhra Pradesh, managed to registered a facile 115-83 win over Uttar Pradesh to top the group.

In Group A, Railways, who rested most of their key players including their star performer Yadwinder Singh, relied on Sunil Kumar (22), Harpal (17), Arjun Singh (14) and Prakash (13). Railways will take on Andhra Pradesh for a slot in the final-four.

After this loss, Uttar Pradesh have been relegated to the lower pool for the next edition of the national meet.

Tamil Nadu, who have not been in the best form this tournament, stepped up the tempo and posted a 79-59 win over Delhi, who had suffered a narrow loss at the hands of quarterfinalist Punjab on Wednesday, in a Group B encounter

Robinson top-scored for TN with 14 points while Paul Abhishek (11) and Mihir Pandey (10), chipped in with useful points to seal the game in their favour. Tamil Nadu will take on Services in the quarterfinals.

In the women’s section, Haryana scored convincing 72-33 win over Jharkhand and Himachal Pradesh overcame a stiff challenge from Rajasthan to win 49-33.
