JOIN USAnkur and Sourabh, both 16, had ventured out for fishing, along with their friend Sahil, around 2 pm. Ankur, who went for a walk around the lake, slipped into the lake. Horrified, he raised an alarm. Hearing this, Saurabh and Sahil rushed to rescue him. Saurah too fell while trying to rescue Ankur. Both started crying for help. A shocked Sahil rushed to get help and informed people at the Air Force Station who rescued the boys and rushed them to a nearby hospital. The boys died half an hour later.
Ankur and Saurabh were children of Air Force Station employees. They were studying in class XI at Kendriya Vidyalay whereas Sahil is in class X at Oxford School, Ulsoor. Saurabh's father was in Delhi when the incident occurred.
The body was handed over to him after he returned and a post-mortem was conducted at MS Ramaiah Hospital. Post-mortem on Ankur will be conducted after his father returns from Assam, the police added.
