Airtel slips 5% as investors get jittery

 Amid a volatile trade, the shares of Bharti Airtel closed at Rs 811.40, a fall of 5.41 per cent over the previous close. It had surged over 8 per cent in early trade, but gradually pared gains and dipped by 8.26 per cent to intra-day low of Rs 787 on BSE. Analysts believe that the initial euphoria about Airtel renewing talks with MTN for acquiring a 49 per cent stake was gradually taken over by the concerns over the pressure on the earnings of the Indian telecom firm.On the National Stock Exchange, the scrip settled with a loss of 5.73 per cent at Rs 810.35.
