Due to the overcast skies and the rain, the programme which was to begin at 10 am began an hour-and-half late. The enthusiasm of the girls was clearly visible. Humourist Kotresh who spoke after the inauguration had the audience in splits. Though in the beginning people were not to quick to catch on his jokes, slowly they began responding to his witty remarks.

Basing his jokes on cinema songs, school, hospital and college conversations, imaginary jokes and other daily occurrences, he evoked laughter.

The sounds of instruments like tabla, drums and a few other instruments he created through nose and mouth had the youth putting their hands together. Kotresh’s mimicry was also a big hit. The audience and the dignitaries on the dais were enjoying the Sunday morning break.

Bangalore University student Namratha who bagged three gold medals was felicitated.

Prizes were distributed to students who had won in vaous competitions.

Government PU Boys’ College Principal Dr N V Huggi who presided spoke about the importance of education.
