Batting first, Karnataka scored a modest 180 all out in 82.1 overs in the first innings and TN, in reply, finished their first essay for 239 in 96.1 overs. Karnataka, in their second innings, were 10/0 with HR Kiran (4 n.o.) and Akash Noola (6 n.o.) at the crease at close of play at the IAF grounds.

Earlier, Karnataka were rocked back to a meagre first inning total, despite Noola’s half-century, by a blistering six-wicket spell from TN’s V Sai Prakash. TN rode on Vishal (67) and Jagadeeshan (67) for a comfortable 59-run lead. Shimon Luiz (3/65) and Karthikeyan (4/52) were the pick of the bowlers for Karnataka.
At theNRA grounds, Andhra took control of proceedings against Kerala. Andhra, who scored 359 for six in 89.2 overs in their first innings, bowled out Kerala for 117 in their first essay and had Kerala reeling at 97 for four in 36 overs after they were asked to follow on.  Surendra Babu (186 runs, 243b, 33x4) and Karan Shinde (106runs, 202b, 15x4) gave Andhra the first innings advantage.  Andhra’s Ram Babu knocked over six Kerala wickets to give his side the edge.
