Festivals like Ugadi are celebrated with much fanfare here. It serves festival-related cuisines to give its customers the experiences of a grand festivity. <br /><br /> “The day begins by consuming a specific mixture of neem buds/flowers for bitterness, raw mango for tang, tamarind juice for sourness, green chili/pepper for heat, jaggery for sweetness and a pinch of salt. This mixture with all six tastes is called ‘bevu-bella’. Hallimane’s Ugadi menu too offers six different tastes in their foods and welcomes this year’s Ugadi in a grand manner,” says Babu Rao, Manager. <br /><br />Their menu consists of 30 delicious varieties from popular sweets like ‘holige’ and ‘kajjaya’ to a traditional meal served in plantain banana leaf. The restaurant will offer a lavish meal including ‘happala’, ‘majjige menasu’, two varieties of ‘payasa’, ‘kosambari’, ‘shuntipanaka’, ‘neerdosa’, ‘tovve’, varieties of chutney, ‘uppinakai’ and more delicious dishes, making it a complete ‘Habbada Oota’. <br /> <br />The waiters are dressed in traditional attire, the white panchai.During the festival, popular names from all fields drop in here to take a bite or two. Babu, says, “We don’t really know when a guest would visit the restaurant. Sometimes it will be a surprise when a celebrity just drops by and sometimes we are informed before hand and we make arrangements.
