The State government has announced a list of public holidays as well as restricted holidays for the year 2016. State government offices will remain closed for 22 days besides being closed on all second Saturdays and Sundays.
The list does not include 1 May, 2 October and 25 December, which fall on Sundays. On account of Tulu Sankramana on 17 October and Huthri festival on 14 December, local holidays have been declared for Kodagu district .
The government has also notified a list of 25 days of restricted holidays. The employees may utilise any of the restricted holidays, not exceeding two days in the year, which will be considered as casual leave. The lists of holidays are available on www.ka rnataka.gov.in.
