JOIN US Hulinaiker is expected to file his papers as a BJP candidate on Monday. The MLC had made efforts till the last minute to get JD(S) ticket. He decided to join BJP after the JD(S) leadership offered the ticket to BEML Kantharaju.
Hulinaiker, sensing that the JD(S) leadership was not keen to offer him the ticket, had tried in vain to get the Congress ticket for the past few months, sources said. It is said that K S Eshwarappa, leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council, and Sureshgowda played a vital role in bringing Hulinaiker to the BJP fold.
Congress candidate R Rajendra is expected to file his nomination papers on Wednesday. KPCC president G Parameshwara, district incharge Minister T B Jayachandra, Youth Cong State president Rizwan Pasha, MPs S P Muddahanumegowda, P Chandrappa and D K Suresh are expected to be present.
JD(S) candidate Kantharaju too is expected to file his nomination papers in the presence of the party’s State president H D Kumaraswamy, on Wednesday, sources said.
