Condemning Nobel laureate Venkatraman Ramakrishnan’s remark that homoeopathy is bogus, the Karnataka Board of Homeopathy System of Medicine on Friday said there was no basis for the scientist’s statement.
“Before making such a statement, Ramakrishnan should study the homeopathy system of medicine. It is unfortunate that he made a baseless statement without proper knowledge,” B T Rudresh, the board’s president, told reporters here.
He suggested that the allopathy drug lobby and vested interests were creating this notion about homoeopathy. When people cannot afford expensive allopathic medicines, homoeopathy offers them affordable treatment, he added.
