It's raining stars in Tamil Nadu

Last Updated 23 February 2016, 19:45 IST

Political parties in poll-bound Tamil Nadu are roping in actors, TV artistes and even singers to add “star” colour to their campaign.

If the Congress has actors like Khushboo and Nagma, the AIADMK will rope in actors Vindhya, Senthil, Gundu Kalyanam and Singamuthu.

Actors who don negative roles such as Ponnambalam and Anandraj, who joined the ruling party recently, will also engage in poll campaign.

Adding further strength to the AIADMK, the South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce expressed its support to the ruling dispensation.

The association has produced an album titled “Ammavin Paamalai” (songs on achievements of the Jayalalitha government) and it was unveiled by the chief minister herself.

The DMK camp is also expected to have a star-studded team with film personalities such as Vagai Chandrase-khar, Imman Annach (TV anchor) Kumari Muthu, Vasu Vikram and Poochi Murugan.

The BJP, too, is not far behind. Veteran filmmaker Visu said he would tour the state.
