Youth killed over trivial issue, 7 held

A 23-year-old youth was murdered by a gang of seven members over a trivial issue in Subramanyapura police limits on Saturday night.

The police said that Madesh, 23, a resident of Veereshwaranagar, was murdered by seven persons in a moving car. The arrested are Shivakumar, Punith, Bharath, Sachin, Putta, Lokesh and Rajini, all residents of Ganapathi Nagar and are unemployed.

Around 9.30 pm, Madesh and his brother were consuming alcohol at an isolated place in Veereshwaranagar. Shivakumar, who happened to pass by, asked them not to drink. An argument ensued between them. Madesh hit Shivakumar on his head and asked him to go away, said the police.

Around 11.30 pm, Shivakumar came back with his friends in a car. They bundled Madesh into the car and took him near Sarakki Gate. They assaulted and stabbed him repeatedly inside the car.

Body dumped
They roamed around the area in the car and dumped Madesh’s body near Eashwari bus stop in JP Nagar and escaped. Around 3 am on Sunday, the police received the information about a youth lying in a pool of blood at the bus stop.

The police rushed to the spot and found that the youth was dead. Based on the reliable piece of information, the police detained Shivakumar, who confessed to have murdered Madesh. Shivakumar’s accomplices were arrested by the police based on the information

provided by him, added the police. A case has been registered in Subramanyapura police station.
