JOIN USJayesh Babu and Abhiram shone for Bangalore Zone as they drew against Combined City XI in the KSCA inter-zonal under-19 tournament played at Aditya Global turf here.
Bangalore batted first and posted 293 all out in 89 overs thanks to a patient knock of 132 from Jayesh. In an innings that came off 235 balls, Jayesh struck 16 fours and two sixes.
Left-arm spinner Aman Khan produced the goods for Combined City with the ball as he went on to return figures of five for 66. Combined City’s batsmen let their team down but were lucky to grab two points as they were 180/9 in 67.5 overs, when the match was called off.
Lochan Appanna top scored with 52, while Abhiram’s performance of five for 47 ensured Bangalore kept getting wickets at regular intervals. Both sides were awarded two points.
