46 boxers disqualified

“A record number of 46 boxers have been disqualified from the Championships for being overaged after a medical examination and x-Ray of wrist and arms of the boxers were carried out,” Indian Boxing Federation secretary general Col PK Muralidharan Raja said. “Show cause notices are also being issued to the state associations and boards for fielding these overaged boxers,” he added.

“From next year, we will start disqualifying the entire team if more than four boxers are found to be overaged.”
