Skywalk work near planetarium halted

Last Updated 06 February 2017, 20:38 IST

BBMP has put on hold the construction of a skywalk near the Jawaharlal Nehru planetarium for want of more clarity on whether it obstructs the proposed steel flyover.

BBMP executive engineer Prabhakar, who is dealing with the project, said the work had been stopped for a while.

“We have written to the BDA to clarify whether the project comes in the way of the proposed flyover. As far as we know, the flyover will be constructed between the Chalukya Circle and Hebbal. We don’t think the skywalk will have any bearing on the project.”

Sources said the Palike had asked BDA to provide the route map, structural design and landing of the flyover. BBMP felled three trees near the planetarium and faced sharp criticism for it.
