The Theosophical Society (Bangalore) is organising ‘Ram Katha’ by Sathyanarayana Raju at Chowdiah Memorial Hall on April 1, 6.30 pm.

‘Rama Katha’ explores briefly some of the facets of Rama’s relationships and is a concise delineation of excerpts and episodes strung together. Some of the relationships and characters that have been included are Kousalya, the mother, Sita, Dasharatha, his devotees, Hanuman, Guha and Sabari, his prime enemy Ravana.

‘Rama Katha’ is a dance drama performed by Sathyanarayana Raju delineating the story of Rama. It takes you briefly to some of the facets of Rama’s relationships by stringing together excerpts and episodes of Rama.

It is not easy to portray multiple characters by a solo thematic presentation, but Sathyanarayana Raju has done this portrayal of multiple characters with ease.

He gracefully switches from one character to the other displaying all this with verve and takes one through the life of Rama. It is choreographed by Sathyanarayana Raju, concept and visualisation is by Usha RK and music composition and compilation is by vidwan D S Srivatsa.
