Rains cheer coffee growers in C'magalur

  With the rains lashing on Yugadi day, 60 per cent of coffee estates have blossomed. So far, Chikmagalur has received 26.4 mm rainfall followed by Vastare 12 mm, Joldal 10.4 mm, Aldoor 10.3 mm, Athigundi 10.5 mm, Sangameshwara pete 12.5 mm, Byaravalli 15.8 mm, Dasarahalli 20 mm, Kadur 8.2 mm, Yagati 34 mm, Singatigere 8 mm, Jayapura 23.2 mm, Basarikatte 15.2 mm, Balehonnur 7.8 mm and Shivani received 9.3 mm rainfall. As many as 28 houses have been damaged in Tamil Colony, Dantaramakki and other areas due to the rains that lashed the district. CMC members Akmal and Hemavathi urged compensation.
