Arvind Uppal to voluntarily retire from Whirlpool

Whirlpool of India has announced that its Chairman, and President — Asia Pacific, Whirlpool Corporation Arvind Uppal, has decided to voluntarily retire from Whirlpool Corporation, effective December 31, 2017.

Uppal will continue in his role as Chairman. He joined the company in 2005, as managing director and was elevated to the position of president Asia Pacific in 2010. Prior to Whirlpool, he had an 18-year stint with Nestle, where he held various senior management positions in Switzerland, China, Vietnam and India.

“This has been a very satisfying and fulfilling 12 years, where I have experienced some of the toughest battles and made some of my best friends. I believe the business is now in very good hands and the time has come to pass on the baton,” Uppal said.
