Anganwadi worker 'sells' Ksheera Bhagya milk powder

A female anganwadi worker was arrested on Thursday for selling milk powder distributed under the ‘Ksheera Bhagya’ scheme to a store at Chinchali village in Raibag taluk of Belagavi district. The shopkeeper also has been arrested.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of District Crime Branch (DCB) sleuths raided Tanveer Cold Drinks Centre at Chinchali and seized 136 half-kilogram packets of Nandini Whole Milk Powder by arresting the shopkeeper, Altaf Mehboob Dange. Dange told police that Meenakshi Laxmi Balappagol, an anganwadi worker, had been selling the milk powder to him. Police then arrested her, too.
A case has been registered at the Kudachi police station.
