Huge potholes on Residency Cross Road, which links Residency Road with MG Road is a nightmare for commuters. Motorists hardly find motorable portions on this stretch as it is completely dotted with craters and potholes.

Thousands of motorists use this road every day but the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has turned a blind eye to the issue.

Karthik Prasad, who works in a private firm said, “I commute every day on this road to my office. During rain, the situation is worst as we can't make out where the potholes are because of waterlogging. The stretch has become one of the worst roads in the city.”

“The condition of the road is pathetic. When it is dark, it is almost impossible to avoid potholes due to poor visibility. It is unsafe to commute on this road on a two-wheeler. What is the BBMP is doing ? The authorities must repair it on priority” said Krishna Swamy, a resident of Jayanagar.

Abdullah Khan, a resident of Shivajinagar, said pople living in the surrounding areas who use this road regularly have been put to great hardship.

BBMP officials agreed that roads are in pathetic condition and blamed the continuous rain for the sorry state of affairs. “Residency Cross Road is an important road in the city. We will make sure that once the rain stops, all roads are repaired. The reason for the pothole is heavy downpour. Till the rain stops, we can't repair the road," said a BBMP official.
