Colourful events mark the day

The colourful evening was kicked off by a melodious invocation song by Divya L. M Krishnappa, MLA, Bangalore South, who was the chief guest for the cultural evening, inaugurated the function. He called upon the students to excel in studies.

The three students from AMC Engineering College, who bagged the first three ranks of VTU, were presented the Smt Kalluri Manikyam Awards by the chief guest. Prizes were also distributed for the winners in cultural and sport events, which were held a month back. Dr K R Paramahamsa, Chairman of AMC Group of Institutions, presided over the function and expressed his happiness about the performance of students in academics and non-academical activities.

The annual magazine of the college ‘Anveshana 2010’ was released on the occasion. It contained creative writings in English, Hindi and Kannada languages by the students. “For the first time, we are bringing out this magazine. I also contributed a poem for this and hence, I am eager to have a look at it,” said Ashish, a mechanical engineering student.

After the stage programme, many entertaining cultural events unfolded. Dressed up in bright coloured costumes, the youngsters danced to the latest Bollywood hits.
