“We had vacated our building responding to the order of the Deputy Commissioner.

However, the district administration has not started the drainage works, despite the fact that monsoon had started. The rainwater is clogging the street. In this situation, how do we run our business,” question the traders.

They said that the Deputy Commissioner had said that priority will be given for laying temporary drains for rainwater to flow and for shifting of electric lines, but the Town Municipal Council had not started the works yet.

“The responsibility of road extension from Syndicate bank to Bolarameshwara temple has been given to Town Municipal Council. Unfortunately, the Council has not paid attention towards the problems persisting the area,” say the traders.

Council President H D Thammaiah said that it is undoubtedly the responsibility of the Council to build the drains. In this regard, tender will be called on August 7 and the works will be completed immediately.

The tender for shifting of electric poles will be floated on July 13.
