Speaking to media persons in Mangalore on Saturday, Committee President Mayur Ullal said that the new system helps to control illegal mining. According to the new system, the task force has instructed lorries that transport sand to carry a name-plate indicating ‘Sand transportation lorry’ along with GPS number-plate fixed on the left side of the lorries as well as blue cream (light yellow) colours for bumper and bonnet respectively.
Committee Vice president Halyar Iqbal, Chief Secretary Rajarathna Sanil, Treasurer Melwin Lesley, Advisor B S Chandru were present.
