Sources in the BBMP said, the entire process is in the final stage and certain modalities have to be cleared to implement it. A meeting was held on Wednesday to review the progress of online birth and death certificate.
Under this project, the Palike is getting all the hospitals and nursing homes in the City. Hospitals will have to list any birth or death taking place online through BBMP’s website. This will make the process hassle-free and enable the individuals get the digitally signed
certificate at the earliest.
Besides 48 birth and death registration centres, these certificates can be availed at any of the BangaloreOne centres, BBMP offices or the Palike’s health centres. This online facility frees the jurisdictional restriction as anyone can get the digitally signed death or birth certificates in any part of Bangalore.
Sources said the facility would start in the next two months.
