The gathering thoroughly enjoyed the performances by vocalist Ruchira Kale and Sarwar Hussain on Sarangi. Connoisseurs of music, who had gathered in the hall, were nodding their heads in appreciation during the nearly three-hour long concerts spread over two sessions. First Ruchira Kale impressed the audience with her vocal performance. Then, young Sarwar Hussain took over from her and thrilled the gathering with his performance.

They were well supported by accompanying artistes. The event was inaugurated by V K Viswanathan, Managing Director, Bosch Ltd. This year, there will be six music concerts –– three vocal and three instrumental.

Smriti-Nandan scholarship, instituted in memory of Devanandan Ubhayaker to appreciate and motivate young musicians was bagged by Suma Ravindra this year.  While Ruchira Kale under the guidance of Pandit Ulhas Kashalkar presented the vocal concert, Sarwar Hussain, under the stewardship of Ustad Abdul Latif Khan, captivated the audience with his Sarangi concert.

Vidushi Lalitha Shivaram Ubhayaker, Founder, Smriti-Nandan, was present on the occasion. The popular event, which is into its 24th edition, is only one of its kind devoted for classical music. The entry for the event is free.
