The Election Commission on November 10 declared the winner of Valmiki Nagar Assembly Constituency (AC No 01) in Pashchim Champaran district which went to polls on November 07, 2020. Dhirendra Pratap Singh Alias Rinku Singh of the Janata Dal (United) won the Valmikinagar seat beating Indian National Congress candidate Rajesh Singh by a margin of 21585 votes.
In Bihar Assembly Election 2015, Independent candidate Dhirendra Pratap Singh Alias Rinku Singh won Valmiki Nagar constituency seat with a margin of 18.2% securing 66860 votes against Congress candidate Irshad Hussain.
