Sen said there was no question of either Karat or West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee quitting over the election results.<br /><br /> In a similar fashion, Advani, the Leader of the Opposition in the 14th Lok Sabha, will also continue in his post in the 15th Lok Sabha and would not “persist with his resignation”. Stating this here after a meeting of senior party leaders, BJP president Rajnath Singh said the party’s request was conveyed to Advani which he accepted. <br /><br />“The party has suffered a setback in the Lok Sabha elections. It needs to rebuild itself to meet the challenges of the future. At this point Advani agreed not to persist with his suggestion,” Singh said in a statement after deliberations. BJP sources told the Deccan Herald that various issues relating to the party posts needed to be settled and “ it may take some time to take these decisions”. <br />DH News Service </p>
