10 Sakhi polling booths to come up in Kodagu

SVEEP Committee Chairperson and Zilla Panchayat CEO K Lakshmi Priya said that 10 Sakhi polling booths will be set up in Kodagu.

Speaking to reporters recently, she said that Sakhi booths will be set up in Kushalnagar Government Model Primary School, St Michael School, Blossom High School, St Antony Higher Primary School, Koodige Government Model Primary School, St Annamma High School in Virajpet, Government Higher Primary Urdu School at Panjara Pete, Community Hall at Telugara Beedi, Government Higher Primary School at Bittangala and Community hall at Sunkadakatte.

Ethnic polling booths will be set up at Malambi Government Higher Primary School, Heroor Government Higher Primary School, Chennangi Basavanahalli Girijana Ashrama School, Government Ashrama School at Nagarahole Forest limits and Hebbale Government Higher Primary School.

The polling booth at Taluk Panchayat office has been identified as a booth for the specially abled.

To create awareness on the need to exercise franchise, a signature campaign is being organised in the district.

An eco-friendly bag will be distributed to households in each Gram Panchayat to create awareness on voting. A handbook on voting guide will also be sent out to each family in the district.
