Alok Kumar Verma and Namrata Sinha hailing from Jharkhand moved to the city four years ago which they now call their home.
Though the couple had many options, they chose Bengaluru because of its quality of life.
Namarata, who was born and brought up in a small place called Hazaribagh, explains, “After our marriage, we moved to Hyderabad for a couple of months and then moved to Canada. While relocating, for many couples Bengaluru comes as a natural choice. The fact that the city embraces everyone with open arms is a huge blessing.”
“We were overwhelmed by the openness of the people here. The opportunities available for both students and professionals are ample. The infrastructure is rapidly developing. That was one of the reasons we decided to move to the city from Canada,” says Namrata, who is a zumba trainer.
The couple loves the southern part of Bengaluru and spends most of their time exploring that peaceful part of the city. Though Namrata also talks about the drawbacks of the city like the chaotic traffic, she says that they can’t complain. After all, it was a choice that they made.
“We love our stay here and we see ourselves staying here for a long time. We don’t regret our decision of moving back from Canada,” says Namrata.
The couple is blessed with two boys. Since weekends are the only days the entire family comes together, Alok and Namrata make sure to keep themselves free and spend as much time as possible as a family.
“Bengaluru has a lot to offer to us. We mostly head out for short trips during the weekend to nearby places and return on Sunday evening. We love going for drives. Even if there is no pre-planned schedule for the day, we can easily map out something and head out and that is quite exciting,” says Alok, a business developer at Capgemini.
A visit to ‘Wonder la’ or any resort is always on their list. These apart, Alok also plays golf whenever he gets time. Fitness and fun activities are an important part of their life.
“We usually spend time going for movies and paying a visit to the malls, which is followed by dinner. We are both very experimental when it comes to food and we like to explore different cuisines. We love South Indian food and I don’t think we ever had any difficulties adjusting to the food here,” says Alok.
“Bengaluru is undoubtedly one of the fastest growing cities and with people coming in from all parts of the country, one can witness a mix of cultures and traditions here.”
“We don’t miss celebrating any of the festivals here and make sure to be a part of them with all enthusiasm,” sums up Namrata.
