<p>Bengaluru: An autorickshaw driver and his passenger were killed on the spot after their vehicle was crushed between two moving BMTC buses on 80 Feet Road, Banashankari 3rd Stage, on Friday morning.</p><p>The incident occurred around 11:35 am when a <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bmtc">BMTC </a>bus, travelling from NCERT Junction, Hosakerehalli, towards Seetha Circle, reportedly slowed down as a car attempted to take a turn in front of it.</p><p>The autorickshaw behind the bus also slowed down, but another BMTC bus (KA 01 F 9574) following closely crashed into it, crushing the vehicle between the two buses, the police said.</p><p>The victims were identified as Anil Kumar (50), the auto driver, and Vishnu Bapat (80), a resident of Hanumanthnagar. Kumar lived in K P Agrahara with his wife and two children, while Bapat, an Ayurvedic doctor, had boarded the auto on his way to work.</p><p>The Banashankari traffic police have detained the BMTC bus driver and seized the vehicle. The bodies have been sent to KIMS Hospital for post-mortem examination.</p><p><strong>Bus runs over woman in Hebbal</strong></p><p>Meanwhile, a BMTC bus heading towards Nagawara ran over a woman crossing the road at Hebbal Circle on Thursday evening.</p><p>The middle-aged victim, Lingamma, sustained severe injuries and was declared dead on arrival at the hospital. The incident occurred around 6.45 pm.</p><p>The Hebbal traffic police have booked the bus driver and are investigating the case.</p>
