<p>Bengaluru: Ahead of the monsoon season, the BBMP on Monday launched a 10-day cleanliness drive across the city.</p>.<p>As part of the drive, the BBMP's offshoot Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Limited (BSWML) has started cleaning garbage from the city's roadsides and vacant sites.</p>.<p>To meet the expenditure of the special drive, the civic body has deducted the payment of contractors who are responsible for collecting waste from households.</p>.BBMP exempts self-managing bulk waste generators from garbage tax.<p>BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath said the drive is being supervised by the zonal commissioners of all eight zones.</p>.<p>The civic body has also started clearing construction and demolition waste by using JCBs and compactors.</p>
