<p>Bengaluru: A BJP functionary from Kodagu allegedly died by suicide in Bengaluru on Friday, the police said. The deceased is Vinay Somaiah, 35, who was found hanging at his office in Hennur police station limits. </p><p>Before his death, Somaiah allegedly posted a message on social media accusing Congress party worker in Kodagu Thennira Mahina as the one responsible for his death.</p>.BJP stages protest over suicide of party worker Vinay Somaiah.<p>Somaiah’s brother Jeevan K S has filed a police complaint with the Hennur police against Mahina and Congress MLAs A S Ponnanna and Mantar Gowda alleging harassment by them and their supporters. An FIR was yet to be registered, the police said. </p><p>Notably, a case was registered against three, including Somaiah at Madikeri Town Police Station on February 5. Somaiah was the administrator of the WhatsApp group ‘Kodagina Samasyegalu’ (issues of Kodagu) where derogatory messages against MLA Ponnanna were allegedly shared.</p>
