<p>Bengaluru: The Anti-Narcotics Wing of the Central Crime Branch (CCB) detained nine foreign nationals who had overstayed their visas and were allegedly involved in drug peddling.</p>.<p>These foreign nationals had entered India on various visas. But they continued to stay in Bengaluru after the expiry of their visas.</p>.<p>The police said that the detained individuals, hailing from Nigeria, Sudan, Congo, and Ghana, were residing in Bengaluru without valid passports and visas.</p>.<p>The CCB's Narcotics Control Squad, in collaboration with postal authorities, intercepted a consignment of narcotic substances worth Rs 6 lakh, allegedly imported from foreign countries.</p>.<p>The consignment included 10 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of MDMA crystal, 30 grams of ecstasy pills, and 70 grams of hydro ganja, the police said.</p>.Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh directs officials to make Karnataka drug-free.<p>One Nigerian has already been deported, and deportation proceedings for the remaining eight are underway.</p>.<p>A case has been registered at the Kempegowda Nagar police station, and an investigation is on to ascertain who booked the parcels.</p>.<p>To intensify the fight against narcotics, the Bengaluru City Police Unit has organised a district-level meeting with departments such as the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (<a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/bbmp">BBMP</a>).</p>.<p>The meeting aims to facilitate information exchange and coordinate operations to detect narcotics and deport foreigners who have overstayed their visas.</p>
