During a meeting on Tuesday with the officials including the Deputy Commissioner of Health Ramachandra Murthy and Chief Health officer Gayathri, the commissioner asked the officials to start fogging in mosquito-prone areas.

Teams to visit slums

The Commissioner further directed them to take water samples from hotels, water tankers and other public places to be tested in the laboratory. He also instructed them to form two teams visit slums and take not of the persisting problems.

He further asked the teams to visit at least five slums a day and educate them about maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.

Stock of medicines

Bharat Lal Meena also directed the health department officials to visit primary health centres run by Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike and check if the centres had necessary medicines to tackle the breakout of water-borne diseases.
