The 450 vaccination centres in Bengaluru, including private and government, will henceforth have a collective target of 80,000 vaccinations per day, announced Health and Medical Education Minister Dr K Sudhakar here on Thursday.

This is a huge target as according to the BBMP daily Covid bulletin on March 24, a mere 13,831 were vaccinated on March 23. Out of these while 12,460 were vaccinated with Covishield, 1,371 were vaccinated with Covaxin.

I request all those who are above 45 years of age to be vaccinated from April 1, said the Minister.

"Late last night, we received a tranche of 4 lakh Covid vaccine doses. I have been assured by the union health ministry that another 12.5 lakh vaccine doses will be sent to the state in the next three to four days. There will be no vaccine shortage in the state," Sudhakar said.
