Suraksha is a health correspondent with an interest in a wide range of public health issues that intersect with science, gender, social inequality & environment. She covered stories related to patients' rights, public health agencies, clinical research, overburdened health systems & poor frameworks, more so during the Covid-19 pandemic. In her previous stints, since 2014, she wrote stories about women who underwent unwarranted hysterectomies, & how loss of biometrics came in the way of Leprosy patients getting pension.
