<p>Bengaluru: The Fee Regulatory Committee, which is also acting as the admission overseeing committee, has directed certain pharmacy and medical colleges to refund fee, which they allegedly collected in excess from students.</p><p>In a press release, the committee said eight students, who joined the BPharm course at Acharya and B M Reddy College of Pharmacy in Bengaluru, have received a refund of Rs 5.40 lakh. This was following the complaints from the students, he said. </p><p>Justice B Srinivas Gowda, chairman of the committee, said the excess amount was refunded in the form of a demand draft. “Even in medical courses, Rs 8 lakh has been refunded to two medical students who were admitted at GR Medical College, Mangaluru,” he added.</p>.Low demand for pre- & para-clinical course forces colleges to cut fees.<p>“There was also an excess fee complaint against Acharya Bangalore B-School from students admitted to MBA course, and we have ensured a refund of Rs 31,000 to the students,” he said.</p>
