<p>Bengaluru: The City Market police in western Bengaluru have arrested two men from Rajasthan in connection with an armed robbery at a silversmith’s residence, officials said on Monday.</p>.<p>The suspects — Ajay Rao, 24, and Sunil Singh, 18, both from Rajasthan's Beawar district — were arrested while attempting to flee the state.</p>.<p>A third suspect, a 16-year-old boy, was detained and presented before the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB), as he is a minor.</p>.<p>The police believe Sunil, who had previously worked at a jewellery shop in Bengaluru, has orchestrated the robbery. The incident occurred around 3.40 pm at the residence of Nagaraju Shindhe near RT Street in Chickpet.</p>.Fortune teller arrested for stealing Rs 8 lakh gold from homemaker in Bengaluru .<p>The trio reportedly barged into the house and threatened Shindhe and his mother, Nitha, using a silver-coloured country-made pistol and a knife. They tied up the victims and taped their mouths before stealing valuables, including a gold chain weighing 20 grams worth Rs 1.2 lakh, a pair of earrings weighing six grams worth Rs 36,000, and Rs 33,000 in cash from the locker and prayer room. The mother and son were then locked up inside a washroom as the robbers fled.</p>.<p>Following a complaint, the City Market police analysed CCTV footage and traced the suspects. During the arrest, the police recovered the country-made pistol — which had no live rounds — the stolen chain, earrings, Rs 11,950 in cash, and three VIVO mobile phones.</p>.<p>“At this stage, it seems the suspects were not part of any larger gang,” an investigator told DH. “We are investigating further to determine if others were involved and to trace the source of the country-made pistol.”</p>
