Woman corporator faints at BBMP meet

Roopa R, the Congress corporator from Dr Rajkumar ward, almost collapsed owing to breathlessness during the BBMP council's monthly meeting on Friday.

The meeting was adjourned following the medical emergency. Mayor R Sampath Raj helped her get some fresh air and rushed her to the nearby Mallya Hospital. Deputy Mayor Padmavathi Narasimhamurthy and ruling party leader M Shivaraju were also present during the check-up at the hospital. Doctors said it was a minor issue and that Roopa's health was fine.

A few corporators said they experienced similar breathing discomfort previously and suspected the air-conditioning.
