<p>The CET toppers in engineering courses are all eyeing at admissions to IITs and NITs.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Prajwal K A from VVS Sardar Patel PU College, Bangalore, who topped the entrance test for engineering, with a score of 57 in physics, 58 in chemistry and 58 mathematics, said he was aspiring for a seat in one of the IITs. Prajwal scored 97 percent in his PU board exams. After qualifying in the JEE (Main) exam, the results for which were announced recently, he said he was now focusing on the JEE (Advanced) exam.<br /><br />“I’m very satisfied with my marks. I concentrated on previous years' papers and the reason I was able to do well was because I managed time properly.” He added that it was five per cent from his side and 95 per cent, the support from his teachers and parents that enabled him to do well. Prajwal father, K S Arunachala said, “I couldn’t have asked for anything else. I am extremely happy.”<br /><br />The second and third rank holders are also from VVS Sardar Patel PU College. The second rank has been secured by Sucheth S Kuncham. “I am really happy that my hard work paid off.” Sucheth found it was very important to stay self-motivated in order to cope up with the work and, that his college was instrumental in his success. <br /><br />He wants to pursue engineering in Electronics and Communication at National Institute of Technology, Karnataka, Surathkal. Sucheth scored a remarkable 96.16 per cent in his PU board examination with physics, mathematics, chemistry and electronics.<br /><br />The next rank holder too is looking at a seat in IIT. Manu S H, who scored 56 in Physics, 58 in Chemistry and 56 in Mathematics stands third in the State in CET. He emphasised on the importance of practising previous years’ papers. He scored 94 per cent in PUC. He wants to pursue either electronics or chemical engineering at IIT, Bombay. He added that he could not have done it without the support of his parents.<br /><br />Sahan S Alva of Expert PU College, Mangalore has obtained the 4th rank in CET, and wants to pursue Electronic Engineering at IIT Mumbai. He scored 56 in Physics, 55 in Mathematics and 60 in Chemistry, and had scored 95 per cent at the II PU exams. <br /><br />Medical toppers<br /><br />Hemanth Amardeep Santhoor, a student of National Public School, Indiranagar got the first rank in medical in the CET examination. He got 96.6 per cent in his CBSE 12th standard examination and was ranked 7 in the Manipal Entrance Examination.<br /><br /> He wants to pursue neurosurgery and research. His parents, Amardeep Santhoor and I K Thanuja, both electronic engineers were very happy with his results.<br /><br />Medha Narayana Rao, a student from Expert PU Science College, Mangalore got the second rank in medical. <br /><br />She got 94.6 per cent in her second PU examination and fifth rank in Manipal Entrance Exam. She prepared for the exams at her college itself where they held routine tests, which she said helped her a lot. <br /><br />Her parents, Narayana Rao, a Chartered Accountant and mother Shobha Rao, a homemaker were elated with her result. Medha wants to join Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore.<br /></p>
