Cong may name 5 contestants by tomorrow

The Congress is expected to announce the remaining five candidates for the Karnataka Assembly elections by Wednesday, reports DHNS from New Delhi.

“Rahul Gandhi is away in Amethi and we will take a decision by Wednesday when he returns to Delhi,” a senior Congress leader said.

Congress released a list of 218 contestants on Sunday. The five constituencies for which the candidates are yet to be named are: Kittur, Nagthan, Sindagi, Raichur and Shanti Nagar. The party is supporting the candidature of Darshan Puttanaiah, the Swaraj India nominee, in Melkote.
