District BJP unit spokesperson Venugopal said that the Congress members in CMC are levelling allegations against the BJP for political mileage.

As the election to the CMC is nearing, the Congress members in the CMC are levelling allegations against the BJP, said Venugopal.

Speaking to reporters, he said that the previous Congress government had failed to release special grants for development works in the CMC jurisdiction.

The coalition government too has failed to release grants. The district in-charge minister visits the district only during national festivals. The heavy rain and drought in Chikkamagaluru district have affected the farmers. The Congress leaders have not taken any measures to impress upon the government to sanction compensation for the loss of crops, he alleged.

He said that the BJP is making preparations at the booth level for the CMC elections. The BJP will win with a thumping majority in the CMC, he predicted.

BJP leader C H Lokesh said the state government has failed to implement Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana in the state. Unfortunately, Congress leader Sachin Meega is unnecessarily levelling allegations against the Union government for failure in Fasal Bima Yojana, he added.
