‘Don’t implement Kasturirangan committee report’

District BJP unit president D N Jeevaraj termed the Kasturirangan committee report as unscientific and urged the government not to implement it.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said, “Those who conserve forest in Malnad should not be evicted. The afforestation works should be taken up through various projects. The implementation of the Kasturirangan committee’s recommendations will inconvenience the residents of Malnad.”

The citizens are in favour of the BJP in the country. The BJP will come back to power once again in the country in the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls, he said.

Jeevaraj said, “Party High Command has not discussed on the probable candidate for the Chikkamagaluru-Udupi constituency. I am not a ticket aspirant. I will strive for the victory of the party’s candidate.”
