<p>It is tough time for the election observers who have arrived in Chikkaballapur district to monitor the five Assembly constituencies that are going for polls on May 05.<br /><br /></p>.<p>Lodged in the Travellers’ Bungalow at Nandi Hills, they are finding it difficult to establish communication with the outside world. Through the district administration, the officers have appealed for landline connection, broadband and fax facilities from the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).<br /><br />But the BSNL officers are finding it difficult to provide communication facilities at Nandi Hills, since there is no telephone exchange in the vicinity. They only mode of communication that can be established was, through cellphones. Thus, the BSNL is unable to meet the demands of the election officers. <br /><br />A total of eight election officers have arrived in the district and in order to help facilitate the election activities, the election officers have sought minimum four landlines, broadband and fax facilities to establish better links and for speedy updates. <br />According to BSNL officers, it was difficult for them to install landlines, due to lack of a telephone exchange in the Nandi Hills region. While the officials of the district administration have been requested the BSNL officials, the BSNL officials are only expressing their helplessness.<br />DH News Service</p>
