Four persons including a self-styled “Guruji” were arrested on the charge of attempting to sell babies, here on Thursday.
Police gave the names of the arrested as Srinivasa Guruji (40), the founder of an ashram in Bapanahalli, Murali (30), Reena (35) and Gladis (20).
Police said Srinivasa had promised a person to help find children for adoption, and attempted to sell babies to him. He reportedly “fixed” a price of Rs two lakh for a baby girl and Rs four lakh for a baby boy. The police got wind of his plan and arrested all the four.
