<p>Bengaluru: Hailing the Karnataka government’s decision to provide title deeds to landowners without documents as the Congress’ “6th guarantee,” party leader <a href="https://www.deccanherald.com/tags/rahul-gandhi">Rahul Gandhi </a>on Tuesday articulated that the move would benefit crores of families.</p><p>“There were many people in Karnataka who had lands but did not have documents and title deeds for it. Today, over 1 lakh people have got title deeds. We have taken a step to realise Indira Gandhi’s dream. This is the 6th guarantee and perhaps the most important one. On the occasion, 1,11,111 families owning lands but lacking documents were provided title deeds by the Revenue Department headed by Krishna Byre Gowda.</p><p>Rahul, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, asked his government to ensure that 50,000 families, which do not have title deeds, be provided with documents within six months. He also batted in favour of digitising land records so that the poor without documents would benefit. </p><p><strong>‘Cong vs BJP economic models’</strong></p><p>Articulating the differences between the Congress and the BJP as a clash between opposing economic models, the LoP said: “ BJP wants a few select families to get all the money and wealth of the country. But we want the poor, backward, Dalit and Adivasis to get the amount. In their model, jobs are finished, while our model creates jobs. While our money goes to villages and towns, the BJP gives it to two-three oligarchs, who buy assets in London, New York and so on.”</p><p>Explaining the economic vision behind the guarantee schemes, he said the money being transferred to the people goes to the market, increases production and thereby the cash inflow in the state also increases, which then benefits Karnataka’s economy.</p>
