<p>The High Court on Monday granted conditional anticipatory bail to Anil Lad, Congress MLA from Ballari city and mining baron, and his wife Aarthi, in connection with their names being mentioned in the CBI report on illegal mining. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Justice A V Chandrashe-kara directed Lad and his wife to deposit a bond for Rs two lakh and one surety and to execute the bond by December 30. <br /><br />The bench directed the couple to cooperate with the CBI investigation, not to tamper with evidences and threaten witnesses.<br /><br />Named in report Lad and his wife are directors of VSL Mining Company and their names are mentioned in the CBI report on illegal mining and export of 50,000 metric tonnes of iron ore that was seized by the investigation agency at Belekeri port in 2012. <br /><br />The CBI court had earlier rejected their bail application. Lad and his wife had moved the High Court, seeking anticipatory bail.<br /><br /></p>
