Houses soon for flood-hit, promises CM

 Speaking to reporters in Bangalore on Tuesday, he said that officials have been directed to strengthen the sheds where flood-hit victims are residing at present, in case the construction of houses cannot be completed before the onset of monsoon.

He has also directed deputy commissioners to update him with latest information about the progress in construction through video recording.

On Tuesday, the government entered into an MoU with an organisation named Govind Prasad Humanitarian Foundation (GPHF) to construct over 6,000 houses for the flood-ravaged people.

The houses will be constructed under the ‘Aasare’ housing scheme launched by the government at a cost of Rs 75 crore in Belgaum, Koppal, Bagalkot and Davangere.
Revenue Secretary K S Prabhakar and GPHF Chairman Govind Prasad  signed the MoU  in the presence of chief minister and Revenue Minister Karunakara Reddy.
