<p>The State government on Friday appointed government advocate Joseph Aristotle, according him the sanction to file a special leave petition (SLP) against the May 11 judgement acquitting Tamil Nadu Chief minister J Jayalalitha in the disproportionate assets case.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The government, which recently decided to file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court verdict, issued the order on Friday. Senior counsel B V Acharya has been appointed special counsel on behalf of Karnataka and Sandesh Chouta will assist him.<br />The under-secretary (administration-1), Law department, will be the litigation conducting officer and swearing officer. The State government has 90 days’ time to move the Supreme Court.<br /></p>
